Uses

Mustard seed is widely cultivated crop across the globe, especially in Asia, and rich in minerals, vitamins, phytonutrients, and anti-oxidants. It is an essential ingredient in several regional foods. It is round shape in three different colors, black, brown, and yellow. As the seeds are rich in vitamins and minerals, it is extensively used as a food ingredient and occasionally the oil extracted from the seeds, mustard oil is used for cooking, salad dressing, pickles, and chutneys.

Applications

The black mustard oil is not only used to make medicine, but also for the common cold, painful joints and muscles (rheumatism), arthritis, while black mustard seed is used in relieving water retention (edema) by increasing urine production, for causing vomiting, in increasing appetite.
